2026 Subaru Forester: Everything You Need To Know

The 2026 Subaru Forester is a crossover SUV that is sure to be well-liked by many. The Subaru Motors has completely redesigned the sixth generation Forester for the 2025 model, with an updated exterior design, revised chassis, new interior design, and upgraded technical features, and for the upcoming 2026 model year, the Subaru Forester is expected to be a carryover model, but we suspect it should have a new hybrid powertrain.

We can’t expect to see any major changes in the exterior design of the Subaru Forester for the 2026 model year. The current 2025 Forester has a reserved exterior design with split headlights, an oversized grille, and a chunky front bumper. Wide fenders are located along the sides of the body. At the same time, the Subaru Forester has triangular taillights connected by a horizontal trim piece, a hidden exhaust outlet, and a robust rear bumper.

Also, the design of the 2026 Forester will be similar to the current 2025 model on sale. Also like many other Subarus, the Forester has dual screens on the center console, giving a low-quality look. The screens are integrated into a single piece of plastic and there may be some physical controls on either side of the screen.

If you are excited to know the release date of the new Subaru Forester, then let me tell you that Subaru has not given any specific date for it. However, no changes are being made to the Subaru Forester for the 2026 model, so we expect the 2026 Forester to be released before the end of 2025.

2026 Subaru Forester Interior

The interior of the new Subaru Forester is pretty much the same as the previous model, with quality and updates being a big part of how enjoyable it is to spend time in the SUV. Different trim levels have their accents that help make the place feel special, such as bronze accenting in the Sport trim or suede accents on the seats in the Touring.

Subaru has given it the StarTex faux leather seating surfaces from last year’s Wilderness trim, the material feels durable, and its easy-to-clean nature fits with the more active vibe of the Sport trim. Other changes include a new dash with more soft-touch plastics as well as some fun Easter eggs like raised paw prints on the interior door panels and a small bird printed on the windscreen.

In cargo space, you get 74.4 cubic feet of space if you fold down the rear seats. That’s enough space for almost any luggage you want to carry. Subaru Motors also said its owners prefer using the roof rack, and the cargo space also has new screw-in mounts with hooks for mounting accessories.
