2026 BMW iX3: We Know So Far

Today we will discuss the 2026 BMW iX3, which will be all-new for the US market. We know the BMW iX3 has been sold in global markets for the past few years, but now the upcoming generation will also come to the US. BMW is yet to make an official release on the electric crossover.

The BMW iX3 has served as the all-electric counterpart to the X3 crossover in the European, Chinese, and Australian markets since 2020, but it has never been sold in the US. But now that is expected to change after the upcoming redesign of the 2026 iX3, which will enter the US market.

BMW nor the EPA have said anything about the estimated range of the upcoming iX3 yet, but we do know that the New Class platform will use an 800-volt electrical architecture and batteries that are 20% more energy-dense than batteries currently in production, and we think this will give the iX3 easily more than 300 miles of range per charge.

2026 BMW iX3 Design 

As we mentioned above, the 2026 iX3 is all-new. Keen observers and internet searchers will find there is already a BMW iX3 SUV on sale in other parts of the world, but it is several years old and runs on a version of the current gas X3’s platform. The new BMW iX3, which we expect to arrive in North America as a 2026 model, will be based on BMW’s newly engineered, EV-specific New Classe platform.

Some research has revealed the front of the new BMW iX3 will feature sleek, vertically oriented kidney grilles reminiscent of the original New Class from the 1960s, surrounded by lights, a design choice that will figure prominently in upcoming models as BMW shifts from chrome to illuminated elements.

We expect a uniquely shaped central infotainment touchscreen to give the driver and front passenger access to the SUV’s software systems. A narrow, ribbon-like display spanning the width of the windshield at the forward edge of this vehicle’s dashboard will help you read all the information at a glance without taking your eyes off the road.

2026 BMW iX3 Release Date

The new BMW iX3 will be launched in the US next year, along with BMW’s first new-class EV. The BMW iX3 will be a battery-powered variant of the X3 and will be built on a new class platform, which is scheduled to be launched in 2025.

2026 BMW iX3 Price & Trims

BMW has not yet revealed the price, trims, powertrain, or any other product details for the 2026 iX3, however, according to information from some major automotive websites, we expect the new BMW iX3 price to start around $60,000 and go up to $70,000 depending on trim and options.

2026 BMW iX3 Interior

The interior of the new BMW iX3 is expected to feature durable materials and an airy passenger compartment with enough space for four adults, with a large panoramic glass roof that adds a sense of openness inside.

Ambient lighting, some of which will be cleverly integrated into the textile trim pieces, will help illuminate the cabin. It was shown in a beautiful two-tone red and white interior scheme, which looks similar to the velour-like upholstery on the top of the seats.

 New Classe X concept vehicle gives us a first glimpse of what the production 2026 iX3’s infotainment system will look like, with a uniquely shaped central infotainment touchscreen giving the driver and front passenger access to the SUV’s software systems, and BMW says the system will also feature an advanced voice assistant and a 3D head-up display.
